Satyrium erectum

geel trewwa

Stout, tuberous (swollen underground stem without basal plate) geophyte to 60 cm. Two egg-shaped leaves flat on the ground. Bears 11 to 37 flowers in a dense raceme, ping with darker tinges and spots on petals (August to October).

Distribution in the Hex

Dry sandstone, clay, or sandy flats in Hex River Arid Alluvium Fynbos and De Doorns Sandstone Fynbos.
