Pauridia flaccida

Cormous (swollen underground stem) geophyte of 6 to 20 cm. Tunic (enclosure or corm) fibres firm and pointed outward at tips. Leaves (3-6) emerge from base, lance-shaped, sometimes wavy. One or two flowers (July to September), star-shaped, yellow, green to brown markings on alternate petals beneath, pedicels clasped in 1 or 2 papery lance-shaped bracts.

Distribution in the Hex

De Doorns Sandstone Fynbos and De Doorns Renosterveld vegetation. Seasonal damp flats. Possibley also found in Hex River Arid Alluvium Fynbos.
