Oxalis obtusa

geeloogsuring, yellow-eyed sorrel

Stemless geophyte. Pale green leaves emerge from the base. Each leaf is divided into three narrow heart-shaped leaflets. Bears single salmon-coloured flowers on a short hairy peduncle after good winter rains. The petals are clearly veined and the corolla is bright yellow.

Distribution in the Hex

Renosterveld-like shale soils in valley floor.
