Oxalis burkei

Geophyte up to 10 cm with a wiry stem evident above ground. The leaves are trifoliolate with linear-conduplicate leaflets that are thinly haired beneath or hairless. The flowers (May to June) are rose, lilac or white with a yellow tube.
Oxalis burkei appears similar to Oxalis ciliaris but is mostly hairless and found on red clay soil in the De Doorns Renosterveld Karoo vegetation type. The two species co-occur in the ecotone between the two vegetation types.
