Oedera squarrosa

Twiggy shrub up to 1 m. Leaves paddle-shaped, often gummy. Young leaves are 4-ranked, forming a square when viewed from above. Leave tips curved downwards ending in an abrupt sharp point. Flowerheads have yellow ray and disc florets and are arranged in terminal umbels. Florets are hairy and glandular. Flowers from September to November.

Distribution in the Hex

Sand or clay slopes and flats in De Doorns Renosterveld Karoo and Hex River Arid Alluvium Fynbos.
