Gladiolus floribundus

Cormous geophyte up to 45 cm. Corm tunics are papery. Leaves are sword-shaped. The white to pink flowers (September to November) have long tubes with dark streaks down the middle. The lower tepals are smaller. long-tubed, lower tepals smaller, white to pink with dark median streaks. Sept.–Nov. Dry clay, sandy or limestone fl ats and slopes

Distribution in the Hex

Dry clay or sandy flats and slopes of De Doorns Renosterveld Karoo (Renosterveld component) and Renosterveld-like patches of Hex River Arid Alluvium Fynbos.
