Aspalathus rugosa

Aspalathus rugosa

Shrub to 1.5 m. Leaves trifoliolate; stalkless. Leaflets linear to lance-shaped with sharper end towards base; flat, distinctly veined and finely hairy. Flowers (November to January) in short terminal racemes; bright yellow and pale/silky on the back. Back of standard and keel silky. Calyx bell-shaped with triangular lobes.

Sandstone flats of Hex River Arid Alluvium Fynbos.
